Shortly before returning to New York for the final year of my master's program, I played a trio gig at the Silk Purse Arts Centre and live-streamed the entire thing on Facebook. After noticing how decent the recording sounded, I decided to separate the audio into tracks and transform our performance into a live album. I was particularly inspired by Aaron Parks' 'Alive in Japan', an album of iPhone Voice Memo he recorded while on tour. In summary, this has got to be my favourite way of making an album: playing and recording a gig with no intention of making one at all.

This album is EXTREMELY LIVE with minimal editing. The venue was right next to the ocean and I am beyond stoked about the seagull calls captured in the background of certain tracks - especially since there are a couple 'ocean-themed' tunes in our repertoire. With that being said, I absolutely love all the selections we played that day and really hope you enjoy them as well.

My album is for free, however, if you choose to pay for it, all of my personal proceeds (whatever bandcamp doesn't keep) will go to CAMFED; an organization that strives to combat poverty in Africa by investing in the education of girls and young women.
